What is Covicon?

We help production lines in food and manufacturing reduce waste, save manual inspection stations and ensure consistent product quality. We do this by placing cameras on existing or new production lines and visually inspecting every product.

Covicon AI-D inspects food products such as biscuits, wafers, chocolate and frozen vegetables, and industrial parts such as injection-moulded parts and building materials. Covicon Flax Clean detects foreign material in unprocessed flax and hemp. We support you from the first test with your own product through installation, training and service.

Frequently asked questions about AI vision inspection

Does my line need to stop for installation?

No. The camera unit is mounted above your existing belt. Installation usually happens during a planned stop or outside production hours.

How accurate is the measurement?

More accurate than the natural variation of your product. We define the parameters and the required accuracy per parameter together, up front.

Does this work for our product?

Shape, colour, size, texture, foreign objects and defects: if it is visible, we can measure it. Other sensors (3D, thermal, hyperspectral, X-ray) extend that.

What if we have no inline measurements yet?

Then you start in phase 1: measure, monitor and follow up. That is often the biggest step and delivers insight immediately, before anything is sorted automatically.

What does Covicon do?

Covicon builds AI-powered camera systems that inspect and monitor 100% of the products on a production line, in-line. AI-D is used in food production and manufacturing, Flax Clean in flax and hemp processing. Covicon is based in Menen, Belgium, and is part of Valtech Group.

What does an AI inspection system cost?

It depends on the scope and on what is already on your line. That is why we start small and well defined, usually with one line or one problem. The entry investment stays limited, and you decide on expansion based on what that first line proves. A test with your own product comes with no obligation.
